"Cutting Through the Red Tape: Infection Control & OSHA Update"
Presented by John Molinari, Phd

Dr. Molinari is Director of Infection Control for THE DENTAL ADVISOR in Ann Arbor. He served for 32 years at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry as Professor, Biomedical Sciences Chairman and Director of Infection Control. He has published over 400 articles, chapters, and abstracts in microbiology and immunology, and lectures internationally on infectious diseases and infection control. Dr. Molinari is co-author of Cottone's Practical Infection Control in Dentistry, with the 3rd edition published in 2009. He is a consultant for the CDC, ADA Council on Scientific Affairs, Council on Dental Practice, and hospitals in the Detroit area in infectious disease and infection control. He was Chairman of the State of Michigan Governor's Risk Reduction and AIDS Policy Commission. He was the Infection Control section editor for The Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry and a member of the Editorial Board for The Journal of the American Dental Association. He is currently a member of the Michigan Board of Dentistry. In recognition of his efforts, Dr. Molinari was inducted as an honorary member of the MDA, the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists, and is a 2009 recipient of the ADA Golden Apple Award.

Dr. Stephen Chu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics, and Director of Aesthetic Education at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He also maintains a private practice in fixed prosthodontics in New York City. Dr. Chu is a chapter contributor to The Science and Art of Porcelain Laminate Veneers [Gurel,G., Quintessence Publishing, _003], publishes articles and lectures nationally and internationally on the subjects of aesthetic, restorative, and implant dentistry. He has co-authored The Fundamentals of Color: Shade Matching and Communication in Esthetic Dentistry [Chu, S.J., Devigus, A., Mieleszko, A., Quintessence Publishing Co, _004] and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry: Principles and Practice [Tarnow, D.P., Chu, S.J., Kim, J.J., Montage Media Corp., _008]. Dr. Chu is Prosthodontics Section Editor of Practical Procedures and Aesthetic Dentistry, and is on the editorial review board of the European Journal of Esthetic Dentistry, IJOMI, Compendium, Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Chu is the creator of Chu's Aesthetic Gauges manufactured by Hu-Friedy Co., Inc.

"Decision Making in Periodontal Therapy"
Presented by Diego Velasquez, DDS, MSD

Dr. Velasquez, is a graduate of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana School of Dentistry, Colombia. An Ambassadorial Scholarship by The Rotary Foundation allowed him to complete his postdoctoral training in Prosthodontics and Dental Materials at Indiana University School of Dentistry, where he also received a Masters degree in Science of Dentistry. He went on to complete a residency in Periodontics at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Velasquez works in private practice in Fenton, Michigan and is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the School of Dentistry of The University of Michigan. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and is currently a member of the peer review panel of the Journal of Periodontology and a consultant of The International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry. He has lectured internationally and has published a number of articles on prosthodontics, periodontics and dental implant related topics. Dr. Velasquez is a recipient of the prestigious "Dr. and Mrs. Gerald M. Kramer Scholarship for Excellence" award of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation. He is active in numerous professional associations serving on leadership positions in different capacities.
